About Mike Bermeo
I am Mike Bermeo Badillo, an artificial-intelligence engineer based in Quito, Ecuador. I design and ship LLM agent systems: orchestration, planning, memory, and the tool layers that connect an agent to the systems a company actually runs on.
What I do
I work the stretch that runs from proof of concept to a system in production. That means end-to-end agent architectures — orchestration, planning, memory and multi-agent workflows — integrations with CRMs, ERPs, databases and APIs, and the part that is almost always missing: performance metrics, evaluation, monitoring and observability with logging, tracing, auditing and alerting.
Alongside that I do applied research in natural language processing, with published work on stance detection in Spanish political discourse. Research and engineering feed each other: the datasets and metrics that come out of a paper are the same instruments used to evaluate an agent in production.
How I work
Concepts first, code second. An agent system nobody can explain is an agent system nobody can debug, so I start from the problem and the business rules rather than from whichever framework is fashionable. I write software with ordinary practices — clean architecture, tests, review — because an agent is still software and it breaks for the same reasons.
Background
Information Technology Engineer from Yachay Tech University (Ecuador, 2025) and currently reading for an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (Spain, expected 2027). The full list of roles, publications and published packages is on this site’s home page.
Machine-readable version
This page is also published as markdown: append index.md to its URL. A summary of the site, and when an agent should reach for it, is at /llms.txt, and /llms-full.txt carries every page in a single file. Any page answers in markdown if you request it with an Accept: text/markdown header.
